At 44 years old, The Royal Iolani condominium community was experiencing severe, age-related leaks due to a corroded drain, waste, and vent piping system. The board hired SageWater to replace the sanitary waste and vent piping in 296 units across both of the community’s towers and reroute and install isolation valves in three zones. To reroute and install the isolation valves, our crew built out soffits and drop ceilings and relocated sprinkler heads. Because Royal Iolani is a post-tension building, the SageWater team coordinated with a structural engineer to strategically identify safe areas to chip away the concrete slab to gain access to the old pipe and enlarge the holes to install the new pipe. Throughout the project, Royal Iolani experienced SageWater’s signature turnkey service—from project management and installation through returning the units to their original condition by repairing and painting walls and resetting all fixtures and finishes.
