Digital Marketing Manager


SageWater is actively seeking to hire a Digital Marketing Manager to work out of our corporate office in Alexandria, VA.  This position will report directly to SageWater’s CMO. As part of the marketing team, the Digital Marketing Manager will work with the CMO and other marketing and sales team members to manage the marketing automation system, administer the corporate website, provide graphic design support, assist in content development and execute marketing campaigns and tactics containing key messages and calls-to-action.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage marketing automation systems including CRM and Email Marketing
    • Serve as the primary owner and contact for Microsoft Dynamics CRM and ClickDimensions marketing automation platform
    • Build, execute, test and measure campaigns in the system
    • Develop segmentation methodologies and grow the database to enable more advanced targeting (by geo, role, client type, etc.)
    • Manage data quality, including de-duplication, ensuring that contact data and marketing lists are clean and accurate
    • Oversee all aspects of email marketing including: list development, optimization/testing, measurement, reporting and deliverability
  • Administer the corporate website ( and affiliated microsites
    • Optimize the Website for conversion
    • Assist with SEO optimization via management of SEO consultant and MOZ platform
    • Create and test landing pages and associated web forms
    • Post blogs and dynamic content
    • Oversee site updates, plug-ins, content and performance measurement (along with any other activities required to ensure that the site runs smoothly)
    • Manage hosting platform vendors, domain registration and renewals, etc.
  • Oversee SageWater’s online presence
    • Manage digital advertising programs to develop brand awareness and generate demand using AdWords, re-targeting, SEO, social media, display and content marketing platforms
    • Execute, test and measure campaigns across LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and other social channels
    • Encourage dialog on social channels with prospects, customers, influencers
  • Establish digital marketing reporting requirements and dashboards
    • Analyze and measure the results of tactics, campaigns and programs
    • Report on KPIs and marketing ROI
    • Make recommendations for strategy, infrastructure and programmatic investments
    • Build executive-level dashboards
  • Support SageWater’s creative efforts
    • Graphic design for print ads and digital content
    • Content creation support for print and digital platforms

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (marketing, business or related fields preferred but not required)
  • 3-7 years of digital marketing experience (B2B preferred)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, written and presentation of data and information (writing samples will be required)
  • Numbers-driven approach to marketing, focused on metrics and results
  • Adept at gathering and interpreting data across various digital channels
  • Experience with Google Analytics, MOZ platforms, Hootsuite and other common marketing technology platforms
  • Experience with search engine optimization, search engine marketing
  • Comfort with marketing automation systems (such as ClickDimensions, Marketo, or Hubspot)
  • CRM experience (such as Microsoft Dynamics CRM or
  • Basic fluency with graphical Adobe design software (Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Basic HTML & CSS knowledge and familiarity with managing website content management systems (WordPress)
  • Experience with online advertising
  • Experience with account-based marketing a plus
